Working With Me

If you are interested in working with me the following will hopefully answer many of your questions. If you require any additional information, please contact me.

Escorts & Security

You are welcome to bring a companion with you, whether for security, moral support or even just help with makeup and outfits. References are also available if you wish.

Delivery of images

Within 1-2 days of the shoot I put unedited copies of all the shots (bar any fatally flawed) in a password protected gallery here for you to review. I will give this password only to you.

The images will be watermarked. In the past people have used unedited shots which do not show them or me in the best light. The watermark is to avoid this. They will, however, give you an opportunity to pick out any shots you particularly liked, or indeed disliked. If you email me the names of any particular favourites I will consider these when making my selections for editing, however I do not guarantee that I will edit all of your choices.

I pick a selection - usually about 20 in total - which I edit and tidy up. I usually convert at least some to black & white.

I then put together a disk with small and large versions of the edited shots, in jpg format. The small versions are suitable for web use while the large versions can be printed at A4 or even A3 size.

I will send the disk to you by post. I try to get this to you within a week or two of the shoot, depending on how quickly you let me know your favourites.

Release

All shoots are subject to a standard model release. It is all pretty standard, but do read it and let me know in advance of the shoot if you have any questions. I will need you to sign a copy at the start of the shoot. I will include a scanned copy on the disk with the images for your own records.

To open, view and print this release, you'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader. Adobe Acrobat Reader is a free software program, with versions available for Windows, Mac OS, OS2 and Unix. Many computers come with Adobe Acrobat Reader already installed. If you don't already have it, you can download Adobe Acrobat Reader for free by clicking on the button below.

Age

If you are under 18, at least one parent will need to be present on the day of the shoot.

Please bring photo ID with proof of age to the shoot. A passport, driver's license or Garda ID will be suitable.

Locations

I do not have my own studio, but do have access to studios in Galway, Cork, Dublin, Wexford and Antrim.

A studio gives total control over lighting, while outdoor locations have more character but are at the mercy of the weather. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. Both can make for great shots.

Compensation

At the moment I primarily work on a "Time for CD" basis (TFCD). I am willing to consider "Time for Prints" (TFP) also.

TFx is an arrangement between a model and a photographer where the model receives photographs in printed form (TFP), or on disk (TFCD) in lieu of a modelling fee.

Stylists & makeup artists

Depending on location and timing I may be able to source a makeup artist for the shoot, but in general you will need to do your own makeup (trust me, you don't want me doing it), or have a friend who can help.

Timing

As this is my hobby, not my full time job, I'm generally limited to shooting at weekends, or evenings if you are nearby. However, if a project is interesting, and midweek is the only option, that's what annual leave is for.
